Yeah well, I was worming out sheep today. There was still one left in the sheep yards - the most timid, the most stupid (sorry), and when I went to throw her (flip her onto her back so she doesn't flail around as much when you trim her feet or worm her, etc. Sounds like it'd hurt, but it doesn't seem to) I grabbed a handful of her wool which had a thistle spike in it that I didn't see, which then got stuck in my finger. It hurts to touch anything directly on it, but I can't get it out D:
I guess I can't really blame her because it's not like she actually took the spike and put it there JUST to get me, but we weren't able to worm her because she was far too frightened to even go near, and we had to let her go back into the paddock.
Also she bit me when I tried to open her mouth to give her the worming stuff, but I won't hold a grudge because she was scare and didn't understand what was going on.
On a happier note, we also wormed our two chickens, and not only are they friendly (they'll happily come up to you and peck at your shoelaces until they're undone), but easy to catch and much more cooperative.
The first chicken, Caroline, was slightly less pleased, but Ivy kept on trying to get more of the stuff from the bottle when it was taken away from her. We had to use a baby-bottle top (for lambs) on the bottle because we didn't have a dropper handy, which made the whole ordeal more amusing.
